Draft Minutes for Jan. 8 board meeting

The board of directors election was held. By unanimous consent, the 2011 board members  are:

Minutes of the November meeting are approved.

Treasurer’s report: our balance is $25,341. We lost less money than we budgeted to lose. We’ll do a full discussion of the budget at the February meeting.

Race Directors

We have the course. We need volunteers. Registrations are coming in.

Saturday long runs

We will have a sign up sheet so we can have at least one board member there every Saturday. We need to show the flag.

Report from Mary Coordt re the CIM training program.

This was a pilot program. I think it was great. It was a pilot for me too. It was a little difficult to do a blanket workout for the group, because it was so diverse in terms of age, experience.

We set a 20-person cap, but we started with 26. We didn’t want to turn anyone away. But 8 people n ever made it, people had injuries, 1 or 2 decided not to do CIM.

19 started the race. 17 finished. Most of the feedback was positive. I think it was the largest turnout we have ever had for CIM.

Would I do it again? We have to have a cap. Should do a nutrition class. We would need assistant coaches. That was supposed to happen but it really didn’t.

If we did it in the spring we would need to focus on one race.

Youth Chips

The girls team went to nationals in Birmingham Alabama. Secodn at regionals. Four out of 5 had phenomenal PRs. We had a 9^th grader who joined in mid season. Had never run, but went to the nationals as a 14-year old. The Chips made it possible for four to go who would not otherwise been able to go.
